ENGINES
Dodge Challenger

The engines are the bread and butter of the Dodge Challenger and the Chevy Camaro. They bring the power and that fierce roar that lets everyone know you’re on your way. Let’s see which one can flex enough muscle for you!

Drivers, Start Your Engines!

The Chevy Camaro has four available engines. It all starts with the 2.0L Turbo engine, which generates 275 horsepower. You can also opt for the more powerful 6.2L LT1 V8. It kicks out 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

The 2023 Dodge Challenger has a leg up on the competition at every turn. It’s available with one of five engine options. The standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine kicks things off with 303 horsepower. You can also choose one of the following:

  • 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine: 375 horsepower
  • 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine: 485 horsepower
  • Supercharged 6.2L HEMI® V8 engine: 717 horsepower
All Hail the HEMI® V8

The final engine option with the Dodge Challenger is the intimidating, Supercharged 6.2L High-Output HEMI® V8 engine. Its monstrous roar warns everyone that you’re coming at them with 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine with the Chevy Camaro is only capable of 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Does it even stand a chance?

PERFORMANCE
Dodge Challenger

Power is synonymous with muscle cars like the Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro. That makes it pivotal to have superior performance components to give you optimal control. Both models offer launch control, so let’s see how they compare once you reach top speed.

Leading Laps

When it comes to performance technology and track-tuned components, the Dodge Challenger is always in the lead. High-performance engines need heavy-duty cooling and the available SRT Power Chiller® provides it. It diverts air conditioning refrigerant from the interior cabin to the chiller unit, which helps cool off the superchargers in the engine.

The Challenger also comes with Line Lock. It’s perfect for when the rubber meets the racetrack. The front brakes stay engaged while the back tires spin freely, so you can get them up to the ideal racing temperature and clean those marbles off at the same time.

Stopping Power

One performance feature both the Challenger and the Camaro bring to the track are the Brembo® 4-Piston and 6-Piston Brake Systems. They’re vented and slotted to prevent overheating, and the 6-Piston System provides 15.4-inch two-piece rotors that maximize stopping power, so you can stay in complete command through every turn.

SAFETY
Dodge Challenger

Just like professional drivers have spotters on the racetrack to act as a second set of eyes, the Challenger and the Camaro have a bevy of safety systems to help keep you out of trouble on the road. They monitor every side of the vehicle and provide warnings and support to help you cruise with confidence.

Safety is Always Evolving

You’ll find a similar set of safety systems in both the Challenger and the Camaro. Those systems include:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path Detection
  • Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Rear back up camera

The Challenger also comes with All-Speed Traction Control. It applies brake pressure to slipping wheels and adjusts engine output to help you maintain your intended course. The Camaro features a similar system called StabiliTrak.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Rain is typically the enemy on the racetrack. The Dodge Challenger has never been one to back down, though. That’s why it’s available with rain-sensing windshield wipers to help keep your line of sight clear. They work with Rain Brake Support, which uses pressure to clear water off the brake pads for more consistent stopping.
