2022 vs. 2021 RAM 3500: Towing Capacity & Performance

Both RAM 3500 models fulfill users’ requirements as durable workhorses by including a choice of engine options. The standard powertrain is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that generates 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. If you plan on doing some serious towing, you can opt for the optional 6.7L High-Output Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine, which provides high power and torque rise for excellent lugging in demanding loading conditions.

All RAM 3500 models come standard with rear-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is optional. The V8 engine is mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the Cummins engine offers a 6-speed automatic.

When equipped with the optional 6.7L High-Output Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine, the new 3500 generates 1,075 lb-ft of torque and a class-leading maximum towing capability of 37,090 pounds.

2022 vs. 2021 RAM 3500: Interior & Exterior

For the 2022 model year, the RAM 3500 offers the same interior and exterior features as the previous model. Some equipped amenities include LED headlights, LED tail lights, heated outside mirrors with turn signal indicators, rear bumper step, power running boards, etc. Inside, the truck offers dual-zone front air conditioning, remote engine start, power-adjustable pedals, leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, 60-40-folding rear seats, and much more.

2022 vs. 2021 RAM 3500: Safety & Tech Features

For the 2022 RAM 3500, the most prominent change concerns technology. The 2022 RAM 3500 offers a new available Uconnect® 5C system with updated user interfaces and tow-specific navigation. The system, which now comes standard on 2022 RAM 350 Big Horn, LaRAMie, Longhorn, and Limited models, offers a choice of two touchscreen options.

The first is an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system (available on Tradesman and standard on Big Horn, LaRAMie, and LongHorn), while the second is a 12-inch touchscreen that is standard on Limited and available on all other RAM 3500 models. The new Uconnect® 5C system also features Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Wi-Fi hotspot, and so much more.

Moving away from tech, not much has changed with the driver assistance features, as the RAM 3500 continues to offer brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, etc.
